Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese practice
which employs thin, sterile needles inserted into trigger points,
specific spots along energy paths in the body, known as meridians.
It stimulates the nervous system.
The needles affect the flow of Chi (also known as Qi, pronounced
"chee") or energy. It is effective in reducing
pain. When done by a licenced acupuncturist, it is rarely painful.
